Hey Guys, I have a visual basic script that will map a network printer when run at the local user's PC. I can't figure out how to incorporate that script into a user's logon in AD. I am using the UNC path to the script and am working from the "Profile" tab on the user in Active Directory and putting the full path in the "Logon" field. Am I missing something or is there a better way (easier) to map printers for a user using AD? I also plan to incorporate scripting of mapped drives at some point as well. Thanks!

If you're using VBScript to map printers I would recommend assigning the script in the User section of a GPO assigned to the OU containing your appropriate users. However, you may find that the deploy options in the Printer Management Console in Windows 2003 R2 are more powerful and meet your needs better.
thanks, I'll give that a try.
Did you know that you can map Printers and drives through AD without scripting? The only catch is you have to add the new Group Policy additions that come with Windows 2008 server. Here's the catch: either run a Windows 2008 server that you can use to manage these new additions or have a computer running Vista to manage it. I hope that helps
