Texas CITRT Network

The social network for Texas Church IT Leaders

Anyone made the daunting jump from Shelby to another ChMS like ACS or Fellowship One? Likes/dislikes? We've been using Shelby for years, but mostly out of necessity and comfort with routine. If there were another product that did everything Shelby does, I'd be curious to hear some testimonies about it.

Shelby modules whose equivalents we would need:
- Membership/prospects/misc names
- Attendance/Check-in
- Contributions
- All the business functions (A/P, A/R, Check Express, Payroll, Ledger)

Fellowship One looks like it would be great, except their web site doesn't advertise any business features.

We migrated most of our Shelby to Fellowship One 3 years ago. We still use Shelby for financials because F1 doesn't have that module. At that time, the checkin application for our children's ministry was so much better. We never used, or I don't think Shelby had at the time, Online Giving. We use it with F1 and it works great. We have been pleased with F1. The one big struggle end users have had is getting used to the terminology F1 uses because some of the words are the same from Shelby to F1, but don't have the same result. Once you know Attributes, Assignments, etc. and how they work it has been easier for the users. The reports were much more customizable in Shelby, but F1 plans to release customized reports sometime this year in addition to the big report library.
Hope this helps. :)

Were there any headaches in the actual data conversion, or was it pretty much without error?

Does having the financial stuff separate from F1 cause very many problems?

Also, if I may ask, how big is your church? Just trying to get an idea of the volume of work compared to ours.
